Teen 'kicked 15 times' in head 13.08.07

A BURNFOOT teenager who was buried last week was kicked in the head around 15 times, the North's High Court has heard.
Liam Devlin, 19, from The Cottages, Burnfoot, died following an incident in the Creggan area of Derry in the early hours of Saturday, August 4th.
Two Derry men, Sean Cruickshank, 19, from Lislane Drive and Edward McEleney, 20, deny his murder.

A bail application by Sean Cruickshank was adjourned by the High Court at the weekend while the judge rejected a bail application by Edward McEleney, 20, from Circular Road in the city. During the application, the court was told that Liam Devlin, suffered 15 kicks to the head during an assault. He later died of his injuries.
There was a large turn-out for his funeral on Thursday. The young construction worker and avid Glasgow Celtic supporter, was described as a 'lovely young fella' who liked nothing better
than travelling around Inishowen and Derry in his beloved blue Corsa. His car was driven in front of the hearse as the cortege made its way to St. Aengus Church, Burt for Requiem Mass while the keys to the vehicle were among the gifts taken to the altar by his heartbroken sisters.
In his homily to mourners, local curate Fr. Michael Porter said the deceased man's mother and father, Liam and Helen, were going through "every parent's worst nightmare". Liam was laid to rest at Burt Cemetery.
