Joyriders 'terrorising' people of Urris 14.02.08

The people of Urris are being "terrorised" by joyriders who have burnt out two cars in as many months.
Inishowen Councillor Pádraig MacLochlainn said the latest incident involved a car being burnt out not far from a grieving family.
"I would appeal to those responsible for so called joyriding in the Urris area to immediately stop their activities and realise that they are terrorising people in their community, particularly the elderly," he said.
He described how, in the latest incident, a car was burnt out in the Tiernasligo area of Urris near a family who lost a loved one in recent days.
"I have to say that I'm stunned at the sheer insensitivity of the latest incident. To leave a car burnt out only a short distance away from the home of a

family grieving the loss of their mother is shocking," said the Sinn Féin town and county councillor.
"Prior to that, these joyriders were treating Urris like a race track. If these young people do not wake up to their behaviour, it is only a matter of time before they move from joyriders to death drivers and someone's life is lost.
"I will be discussing this matter with the Garda Superintendent and asking him to deploy additional officers into the area until these activities cease," he added.
