Do a "litter bit" for a tidier Buncrana 25.03.08

THE first week of April has been named official Buncrana Spring Clean Week and the local Tidy Towns committee is encouraging everyone to do a "litter bit" to help.
Areas that have let the seaside town down in the past are litter control, particularly on the Bank Holidays, waste management, derelict sites and the Main Street.
A full programme of action had been set out and will be on public display. But individuals and groups are invited to use their own initiative and help clean wherever they can.
Buncrana Town Mayor, Cllr. Paul Bradley will officially get things underway on Monday, March 31 at 6.15pm.
"It's hoped that as many groups

Those taking part so far include all the local schools; Youth Reach; the supermarkets and shop owners. Businesses are being invited to use theh opportunity to do a general clean up around their premises.
"Residents' groups can be a big force in the town and a designated area will be targeted each evening for cleaning up," added Columba.
