€30,000 for two Inishowen schools 09.07.08

TWO of Inishowen's second level schools are each to receive grants of €30,000 from the Dormant Accounts Fund.
Carndonagh Community School and Scoil Mhuire in Buncrana have been allocated the money to help improve their canteen and dining facilities.
The money is part of a total allocation to Donegal schools of €156,533.
Inishowen Senator Cecilia Keaveney welcomed the funding saying the Government had so far allocated more than €5.5 million in funding from the Dormant Accounts Fund and €1.2m from
Carndonagh Community School
the RAPID Leverage Fund to just under 200 projects tackling disadvantage among children and older people.
“This funding source has been a great way of getting monies that have been well spent into the county and many people, have gained huge benefits to date. I have no doubt that all the groups involved will greatly welcome today’s allocation," said Senator Keaveney. Among the other schools in Donegal North East to receive funding is The Royal and Prior School, Raphoe, which is to get €50,000 under the same scheme.Meanwhile, the Donegal VEC has been granted €100,000 for a new Play Bus. The mobile educational unit is designed to facilitate adult education for parents and childcare for their children.
