€2 million to upgrade Inishowen roads 18.02.08

MORE than €800,000 is to be spent this year to complete the Buncrana Inner Relief Road.
The money is part of a €2 million allocation to upgrade non-national roads in parts of the peninsula.
Other local roads set for a major upgrade is the Aghilly Road outside Buncrana that has been allocated €300,000; the road running alongside Moville Community College gets €350,000 while the Redcastle to Moville road also gets €350,000.
The funding is part of a total allocation of €42.8m to Donegal

Buncrana Town Council will also receive an additional €287,000 for road upgrades in the town and environs.
Deputy Niall Blaney welcomed the funding for Donegal North East.
He said: "This grant allocation will ensure that we can continue to improve the road infrastructure in Donegal. We have seen huge improvements in the county's roads in recent years and the continued funding of record amounts clearly underlines the Government's ongoing commitment to improving our road network." Deputy Blaney said better roads would also benefit the local economy.
