Ógra puts the fizz into launch night  20.08.08

THE INISHOWEN branch of Ógra Fianna Fáil will hold its official launch night with a champagne reception, barbecue and DJ on Friday, August 29. Tickets are still available for the event which will be held in the Mill Restaurant, Tullyarvan, Buncrana.
Ógra is the largest and most active youth political organisation with over 6,000 members around the country.
Co-founder and secretary of Inishowen Ógra, Kevin Kelly said he hoped the local branch would encourage the active involvement of young people in the political process.
“There is also a huge social aspect to Ógra, as events such as this show. In fact, some people might say that the social aspect is more important than the active political role which each member plays, yet it is a side of political life that often goes unnoticed by the general public.
"Ógra allows like-minded young people to get together and get involved in a bit of craic and political discussion, while also attempting to change the community around them for the better.”
Carol Faulkner The event will be attended by both local and national Fianna Fáil representatives, including Inishowen Senator Cecilia Keaveney. It promises to be a great night’s entertainment, with the post-barbeque music being provided by D.J. Liam McGrath.
Cathaoirleach and co-founder Carol Faulkner added: “Ógra provides young people with a forum to discuss issues which are important to them in a friendly and welcoming environment, with other young people. It also provides young people with a way to get involved in
the Fianna Fáil party from actively canvassing and leafleting for Fianna Fáil candidates to simply raising issues and supporting the party." For tickets please contact Kevin or Carol on 086 8047115 or 087 6172947 respectively. Doors open 8pm.
