Eastwood delights Derry jazzsters 06.05.08

THE musician son of Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood was among the highlights at the seventh City of Derry Jazz and Big Band Festival over the Bank Holiday Weekend.
Lovers of jazz, swing, blues, rock and dance music flocked to the city for what is fast becoming a major player on the European jazz festival scene.
"This event has put our city on the map. The event has grown so much as far as its reputation and popularity goes and we are proud to be recognised as Northern Ireland’s premier music event," said the Mayor of Derry, Alderman Drew Thompson.
Kyle Eastwood, eldest son of the Hollywood actor, is currently touring Europe to promote his latest album. He brought his band to the Millennium Forum on Saturday before heading to Ronnie

Eastwood, a bassist, has scored a number of his father's movies and has achieved musical acclaim in his own right.
The Blind Boys of Alabama were also back in Derry by popular demand as well as the ever-popular Guinness Free Jazz Trail.
