'I won't be selling iPhone' 12.03.08

ONE of the county’s best known mobile phone stores - Digitalfone in Buncrana - has confirmed this week that they will not be stocking the Apple iphone.
Speaking to the Inishowen Independent, Francis Callaghan, dealer principal confirmed the store would not be selling the phone which is due to be launched on Friday, March 14.
“We understand there is a lot of hype surrounding the launch of the Apple iPhone but we have taken a decision not to stock the phone after much reflection and debate.”
Mr. Callaghan said the reason the store had decided
Francis Callaghan.
against stocking the phone is that the phone being launched in Ireland is the same phone that was launched in Britain six months ago and will quickly become an obsolete model.
“We appreciate the business our customers have provided us with in the past and as a company that prides itself in customer care and good cellular advice we can’t sit back and knowingly watch our customers sign up to an 18 month contract for a product that is out of date with a pending new 3G model iPhone just around the corner,” Mr. Callaghan added.
