ICRfm's bumper Bank Holiday 30.04.08

ICRfm has some great programmes guaranteed to keep you listening over the coming Bank Holiday weekend.
If you would like to know more about the history of the Station Mass in Inishowen tune in to the station this Friday, May 2 at 4.00pm for a unique programme that traces the tradition locally.
Produced and presented by Susan Logue, ‘The Station Mass – A Dying Tradition’ gives an entertaining insight into a rural community institution in Inishowen. Susan follows one local family as they prepare to host the Station for their area and sees first-hand the enormous amount of work that goes into the event, both in the run-up and on the night itself.
Meanwhile, local actor and director Stan McGowan adapted his popular drama ‘Knock – The Hill

of Mary’ for radio and approached ICRfm with a view to producing it. A successful application was made to the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland for funding through their Sound and Vision Scheme. Production, with many members of the original stage cast including the Swilly Players, began in January of this year. The radio play was produced by Trudy McLaughlin and will air on Bank Holiday Monday, May 5, at 12pm.
