Flanagan and O’Sullivan crowned at iCARE Fashion Show

DAWN Flanagan and Stephen O’Sullivan were crowned as the ‘Faces of Inishowen’ at last Wednesday’s iCARE Fashion Show in the Inishowen Gateway Hotel. The Buncrana duo beat of stiff competition from almost 100 entrants to the competition that was run by this newspaper in conjunction with iCARE and the Converse Modelling Agency in Derry. The pair have secured a year-long modelling contract with Converse, a professional photo shoot and individual hotel breaks.
Now in its second year, the iCARE Fashion Show was a tremendous success with organisers describing it as bigger, better and bolder than 2007. Hundreds of fashionistas attended the sold out event to see the latest autumn-winter fashions from a host of outlets including Barr’s Fashions, Chic, Identity, Dunnes Stores, Penney’s and Benetton.
“Arranging the project has been an exhilarating experience, and we

we were determined to make it a night to remember for all,” said Liam Gill of iCARE who paid tribute to the organising committee, sponsors, models, hairdressers, ticket outlets and patrons.
DJ Keith Fletcher was compere on the night while entertainment was provided by Noella Hutton and the children of Studio 47.
Louise McCloskey, sales manager of the Inishowen Independent and a judge for the Face of Inishowen, described it as a tremendous show. “It was a great night and the hairstyles and fashion on display were spectacular,” she said. “It was tremendous to see such support for iCARE. The organisers felt they could have sold out the venue twice over and it was really cool to see local people strut their stuff on the catwalk.”
The busy parents at iCARE are already up to their eyes in their next project and have just released their 2009 calendar. The calendar was designed by the iCARE children and will be on sale all across in various outlets across Inishowen in the coming weeks.
