Man seriously injured in Clonmany crash 14.03.08

GARDAI have appealed for witnesses to a crash in Clonmany on Wednesday night in which a young man sustained serious head injuries.
The man believed to be from the Clonmany area was a passenger in a Ford Escort car that hit a tree on the outskirts of the village. He was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital but is understood to have been transferred to Belfast for specialist treatment.
Garda Sgt. Carol Doherty, of Carndonagh Garda Station, said the vehicle was travelling in the direction of Buncrana when the single-vehicle accident happened shortly before 11pm. Two other men sustained minor injuries in the accident.
The main road was closed for several hours yesterday for a technical examination of the scene. Anyone who witnessed anything in relation to the accident is asked to contact Gardai in Carndonagh on 074 9374109.
