€40,000 grant for Burt community 22.02.08

BURT Parish Community Group is to receive €40,000 to help it refurbish its community facilities. The money has been awarded under the Government's Programme of Grants for Locally-Based Organisations. It was welcomed yesterday by Moville-based Fianna Fáil Senator Cecilia Keaveney.
“This programme provides once-off grants to locally-based community and voluntary groups towards the refurbishment of community facilities. The Burt Group will receive €40,000 under the 2008 programme and I have no doubt that this money will go a long way in continuing the group's work," she said.
She praised people who diligently sought the available grants.
"I commend all those involved in working within the community that do the important work of acquiring the necessary information to allow the grant to be drawn down, and then ensure that the necessary work is completed.
"This is the first round of funding under the current programme in 2008 and underlines the Government's continued support for the efforts of voluntary organisations at a local level."
