€6,610 grant for Greencastle group  08.12.08

GREENCASTLE Community Development Company have been allocated €6,610 under the programme of grants for community and voluntary organisations. These programmes is designed to improve the quality of facilities and services being offered by community and voluntary organisations with funding for refurbishment, fitting out and skills updating.
Local Senator Cecilia Keaveney welcomed the allocation to Greencastle Community Development Company from the Department of Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs. “Community and voluntary groups continue to play an essential role in improving the quality of life for many parish neighbourhoods and towns across the country," she said.
"I would like to commend all those involved in working within the community that do the important work of acquiring the necessary information to allow the grant to be drawn down. "The funding is in support of equipment and small monies can be so important to projects as in this instance. I have no doubt that the money will be greatly welcomed by all those involved."
