Shop Window for local companies  06.11.09

TWO Inishowen companies are part of an innovative new scheme to help them promote their businesses using vacant shop windows. The novel Shop Window project was launched last weekend to help Donegal businesses. Aisling Collins and Godfrey Dawson of Infocus, based at Kilderry Business Park, Muff and Shane Houston of Chic-Hens, Burt, are among the first exhibitors in the ShopWindow.ie initiative. The project is coordinated by Donegal County Enterprise Board which takes vacant retail window space in the county and uses it to promote locally produced goods and services. The first phase of the program has been launched in the Courtyard Shopping Centre in Letterkenny. Ten local businesses will be displaying their products in a refurbished retail unit.
“It’s a great example of businesses in Donegal working in partnership to support each other," said Ursula Donnelly, assistant ceo of Donegal County Enterprise Board.
“This is an idea that will work throughout the county and we hope to increase exposure and sales for our clients.”
The idea for ShopWindow came from a newly formed network for creative businesses in Donegal. Other exhibitors include Sioda Batik, Letterkenny, Emer O’Sullivan Ceramics, Letterkenny, KoKo Designs, Letterkenny, Shaun Egan Photography,
Aisling Collins and Godfrey Dawson of Infocus, Muff, at their new Shop Window space in Letterkenny.
Kerrykeel, John Molloy (Ardara) Ltd., La Maison, Letterkenny, Appletree, Letterkenny and Sharp Design, Letterkenny.
The Board is still actively looking for both new exhibitors and vacant retail space to help promote more local businesses. Any potential exhibitors, landlords or developers can contact Ursula Donnelly on 074 9160735 or udonnelly@donegalenterprise.ie .
