Tedstone seeks Buncrana seat 01.04.09

Fine Gael adds fourth candidate to Town Council team

FINE GAEL'S ambitious Inishowen local elections team was completed at the weekend with the addition of Lee Tedstone to the party’s Buncrana Town Council ticket. Lee (30) lives at Railway Road, Buncrana, and is a prominent young Donegal businessman and MD of Nvolve Ltd, a technology and software design company based in Letterkenny. Lee’s late father George was a popular and active member of Buncrana Town Council in the 1980s.
Lee joins Cllr Paul Bradley, Cllr Peter McLaughlin, and Ms Michelle ‘Waudge’ Bradley on a ticket that the party hopes will secure “at least three seats” at the June Buncrana elections. Fine Gael narrowly lost its third Buncrana Town Council seat in 2004.
Lee Tedstone “Buncrana is a great town with great commercial potential that has never been realised. This potential can be realised if an invigorated and renewed Town Council leads a collaborative reforming agenda with the other important Buncrana organisations. Buncrana Town Council, Buncrana Chamber of Commerce, and Buncrana Traders Association must come together to set out and pursue necessary commercial and social goals,” Lee told the Inishowen Independent.
“If elected to Buncrana Town Council I will push for this collaboration, which must involve everyone in our local community.
An annual Buncrana Awards initiative is one thing that could renew the civic spirit in our town. With a renewed civic spirit, our town will be better equipped to face coming challenges,” he said.
“I strongly support the political alternatives that are currently being advanced by Fine Gael, and I am enthused by the new vitality that exists in Donegal North-East Fine Gael. Joe McHugh is a true champion of our area, with new ideas, and with a genuine belief in what he says and does in Dáil Éireann. He gives leadership to a strong team of local representatives,” said Mr. Tedstone.
Peter McLaughlin invited Lee into Fine Gael and encouraged him to put his name forward for election to Buncrana Town Council
“Lee Tedstone is an excellent addition to the Buncrana Fine Gael ticket,” said John Diver, Fine Gael’s Inishowen Director of Elections. “He joins Paul, Peter, and Michelle, on what is a very ambitious and challenging ticket. We hope to win at least three Town Council seats. Lee is a member of a popular Buncrana family and is a talented and impressive young man in his own right. He will work closely with Cllr Paul Bradley, Ms Michelle Bradley, and Cllr Peter McLaughlin on the Town Council campaign. Lee will also be an important member of John Ryan’s Inishowen County Council election campaign team.” (Inishowen Independent)
