Partnership gives €20K in grants 31.08.09

INISHOWEN Development Partnership has awarded grants totalling €20,350 to 43 community and voluntary groups from around the peninsula. The grants were recently distributed at a well-attended presentation in Tullyarvan Mill, Buncrana.
The beneficiaries included youth groups, voluntary childcare groups, women’s groups, residents' committees and local development groups. Projects assisted ranged from providing equipment for childcare facilities and youth clubs to supporting activities for people with disabilities.
Inishowen Development Partnership board chairman, John McCarter presented the successful groups with their cheques. He expressed his satisfaction that the Partnership had been "in a position to give assistance to a wide range of groups throughout the peninsula".

people that the organisation also provided training and mentoring for community groups. He invited representatives of those groups present, to indicate areas of need they had in terms of training and mentoring.
