FREE legal clinics by a
firm of Donegal solicitors will be available shortly
in Inishowen to give people advice on a range of
issues. The unique clinics which will run in the
Colgan Hall, Carndonagh, are the brainchild of
Gibson and Associates based in Letterkenny.
"As a result of the worsening economic climate, the
firm have acknowledged that many people find
themselves in significant difficulties in relation
to a range of issues including employment, finance
or various disputes and that a large number of
people are reluctant to seek the appropriate legal
advice necessary due to an apprehension of incurring
significant expense," said a spokesperson.
In view of these concerns, Gibson and Associates
have decided to provide, on a pro bono basis, a free
legal advice clinic every two weeks by appointment.
"It is anticipated that the service will provide
access to justice for all at a time when finance may
not otherwise allow the necessary legal advice to be
taken. It is also hoped that the advice received by
participants will alleviate the stress and anxiety
which can arise as a result of failing to deal with
a variety of legal issues as and when they occur."
The clinics will be held every two weeks - by
appointment - in the Colgan Hall, Carndonagh. The
first clinic will take place on Thursday, October
15, from 6pm to 8pm. Clinics are also planned for
