Free debt workshop for businesswomen 17.04.09

INISHOWEN businesswomen are invited to a free ‘Debt Collection and Credit Control’ workshop next week in Letterkenny.
Hosted by the Donegal Women in Business Network, the seminar will be delivered by Jim Glackin of The Glackin Business Institute, Letterkenny and will be of interest to all women in the peninsula who want to learn how to set up and manage a credit control policy including debt collection and the legal issues surrounding debt collection.
“This is a great opportunity to learn from an acknowledged expert in Financial Management,” said Donegal Women in Business Network president Joan Heaney. “With the economic slow down, debt collection and getting paid on time has become a more pressing issue and Jim’s advice will be of benefit to all business owners in the county."
Jim Glackin began his career in the Department of Posts and Telegraph in Letterkenny Post Office and the GPO in Dublin.

After a brief spell as a placement officer with the Department of Labour, he spent 13 years with National Irish Bank rising through the ranks to become a regional manager based in Donegal, Dundalk and Dublin. He established The Glackin Business Institute in 1991 and also provides mentoring services for development agencies’ clients. His daughter Olivia has now joined him the business having spent eight years with Ernst and Young Accountants in Belfast.
The workshop will take place on Tuesday, April 21, in Gallagher’s Hotel, Letterkenny from 9.30am to 11am. To register for your free place or to find out more, contact Celine McElwee, network secretary on 074 9160735 or email cmcelwee@donegalenterprise.ie .
