Major works at Derry City Airport 02.12.09

PASSENGERS using City of Derry Airport face disruption in the run-up to Christmas as major works began this week to improve the car park.
Airport manager Damien Tierney apologised to customers for any inconvenience and advised them to be patient and to allow extra travel time when planning their journey.
“The works are necessary and are expected to take up to eight weeks. Temporary arrangements are in place and members of the public are encouraged to follow all temporary signage and to comply with car park and security staff at all times.
"We apologise for any inconvenience caused but these works are essential and will help us to improve services and facilities at the local airport. “
The upgrade will include the replacement of existing car park equipment, better traffic flow and the update of security at the front of the terminal building.
Mr Tierney said works were

“I would encourage passengers to take into consideration these road works and maintenance works at the airport when travelling,” he said. Information relating to the new airport car park layout will be available as the project near completion.
