SPRAOI agus Spórt are
gearing up for their much-loved annual 5K Fun Run/Walk,
taking place this Thursday, 29th May in Carndonagh.
Registration opens from 6:30pm at the Garden Centre,
with the run and walk starting at 7:30pm. The route will
finish in the Diamond, followed by tea, sandwiches and
prize giving in Unit 6, under SuperValu.

Entry costs are €20 per family and €10 per adult, but
please note that all children must be accompanied by an
adult. Proceeds raised from this year’s event will go
towards the running and upkeep of Spraoi agus Spórt’s
disability bus, which supports inclusive services and
activities across the community. |

Prizes will be awarded on
the night for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place across men’s,
women’s and children’s categories.
Celebrating snother successful Couch to 5K programme -
“This event is always a brilliant way for families and
friends to get active together,” says organiser Mary
McWeeney. “It’s also the final celebration for our Couch
to 5K programme participants, who have been training
hard over recent weeks.”
The annual event has become a major community occasion
in Carndonagh, attracting walkers, runners and
supporters of all ages. Organisers are expecting another
strong turnout this year as more local people embrace
fitness, wellbeing and community participation.
The 5K route will begin at the Garden Centre, continue
through Carndonagh, and finish in the Diamond.
Participants can choose to walk, jog or run the course
at their own pace.
