Schools in Buncrana and Moville “not fit for purpose” 20.01.20

ONE of the most pressing issues raised by voters in Inishowen is the shameful lack of investment in our school buildings, according to Michael White, Green Party election candidate for Donegal. “In one of the richest countries on the planet, we have students and teachers in Inishowen working out of prefabs. It’s absolutely ridiculous and we need to sort this out immediately”.
“Schools in Buncrana and Moville have been completely neglected – and here I am highlighting Crana College and Moville Community College, although I know there are additional schools that need funding”.
Michael White, Green Party general election candidate for Donegal.
Michael continued “Malcolm X once said ‘Education is the passport to the future, for tomorrow belongs to those that prepare for it today’ and the famous quote is painted on the walls of the old, out-of-date and overcrowded Crana College building. For nearly 20 years Crana College has been pressing for a new school building, one that has still not been provided. The current school building is no longer fit for purpose.”
“Education is a top priority for the Green Party in Donegal. If I am elected I will work to secure infrastructure that provides pupils and teachers have state-of-the-art facilities. Education is absolutely key for our children – it’s a key way to eradicate inequality and drive prosperity here”.
