THERE may be money in
mushrooms but this tenner has only been deposited to
show the scale of this humongous fungus.
The oversized mushroom
has been catching the eye of passing motorists on a
rural roadside outside Buncrana. An estimated 1.5
million species of fungi exist in Ireland.
Many are microscopic while the fruiting bodies of
others are visible as mushrooms – some edible,
others lethal.
