Happy Monday for Kathleen and kin 06.12.11

THERE was no talk of budgets and austerity on Monday as Inishowen grandmother, Kathleen McLaughlin, travelled from Redcastle to Lotto HQ to pick up her jackpot win of €2,642,046.
Eight members of the McLaughlin family accompanied their happy-go-lucky mother to the Dublin office where there were many laughs, jokes and a glass of champagne.
A Lotto spokesperson said Kathleen her husband Robbie and their daughters and sons are members of a family syndicate. "They take it in turns to purchase their Lotto ticket. Last Friday, it was Kathleen’s turn and she purchased the €4 Quickpick ticket which resulted in the jackpot heading to Donegal for Christmas 2011."

Kathleen reiterated in Dublin what she exclusively revealed to Inishowen News on the day of her win. She would not change house or even take a holiday. The affable local lady said she only had her sights set on a new three-piece suite.
She bought her lucky ticket in Farren’s, Moville, and lucky agent Denis Foynes said it was the first time his store had sold a Lotto jackpot winning ticket.
"We're ecstatic. It's a brilliant lift for the whole area and our best ever day here in the shop. Congratulations to Kathleen" said Denis.
Some one third of all National Lottery sales go to fund beneficiary projects around the country, as designated by Government.
Since its launch, more than €3.6 billion has been raised for good causes.
"This level of funding has made a significant difference to communities, projects and individuals in the areas of youth, sports, recreation, amenities, health, welfare, arts, Culture, National Heritage and the Irish Language. For more photos, see our Photo Gallery, click here
