Auction action hits Moville 10.03.11

AUCTIONEER Leo McCauley and staff are busy putting the final touches to their big auction taking place this Saturday, March 12, in Moville. There will be lots of lots and great items going under the hammer including an antique footstool, silver tea sets, a Hunter stove, a jacuzzi AquaSteam cabinet, art, fireplaces, ornaments, ceramics, a quad bike and go kart.
"We have done auctions over the years, mostly house clearances, but it is many years since there was a 'catch all' type of auction so we are encouraged by the response. We’ve already got many items ranging from small ornaments to large pieces of furniture, electrical and household goods, a quad and a Go Kart," said Leo.
Leo is a third generation auctioneer and estate agent and has extensive knowledge of buying and selling. His late father, James, and grandfather, Denis, ran auctions in the town periodically down through the years.
For many years the auction bell would ring out to herald the start of proceedings. Listen out...that sound may be ringing round Moville about 11.30am on Saturday.
"We want to give people the chance to once again experience the old-world charm and atmosphere of a traditional auction. Buyers can go along and enjoy the thrill of picking up a bargain.
Leo McCauley.
"Auctions were a way of life for generations gone by and whether you're a seller or a buyer, it should be a great day out for everyone," added Leo.
Anyone wishing to buy or sell an item or items should check out the lots at  www.mccauleyproperties.com . The auction action kicks off at 12 noon at Moville Business Park, Glencrow, and everyone is welcome.
