Bridgend shop sells €250K winner 05.10.11

A LUCKY Derry couple today collected a cheque for a cool €250,000 after scooping the Lotto Plus 2 draw with a ticket bought in Bridgend.
The couple, who wish for their win to remain private, bought their €8 winning ticket in O’Neill's shop.
The husband watched the Lotto draw live last Saturday night: "I watched the numbers roll out of the draw drum. When I realised I had won I was stunned, I must have checked the ticket about fifteen times!
"After a while my wife came in to the sitting room and asked me if we had won anything, when I told her we had won €250,000 there was great excitement," he laughed.
He added: “I usually only buy three lines for the Lotto draw, when I got to the shop to buy my Lotto ticket on Saturday I found an old scratchcard in my pocket which I had won €6 on, so I cashed it in and bought four lines instead of my usual three. It was the fourth line that won me the top prize.
“I still can’t believe it,” said his delighted wife. “We've been playing Lotto for over 20 years and the most we have ever won was around £250.”
The lucky winners currently have no plans for the win preferring to take some time before making any decisions. Meanwhile, Farren's shop in Moville recently sold a winning ticket worth €25,000. Owner Denis Foyne said there was plenty of speculation but no confirmation yet as to the lucky winner's identity.
