As ever-bigger houses
spring up in all corners of Inishowen, there's one
local man who thinks happiness comes in smaller
packages.
Kenny Keeney is the proud tenant of 'Rose Cottage'
in Muff - all 350sq. ft of it. |

Boasting a tiny sitting
room/kitchen, one bedroom and bathroom, this quaint
three-room abode is straight from the pages of a
Ladybird fairytale.
Kenny has been living at the cottage for nine months
and plans to stay as long as it's available.
"I love living here. It has everything I need - what
more could a man want?" he says. |
"It's all about image
these days - some people have to have houses bigger
and better than the next one."
The affable Glenties man, who has been residing in
Inishowen for around two years, is a hospitable
host.
As Highland Radio's Charlie Collins outlines the
exciting twists and turns from Donegal's nailbiting
championship game against Armagh, from a radio on
the shelf, Kenny is squeezing a tea-bag with the
back of his spoon to get you a good, strong cuppa.
He's happy with his lot and cares little for today's
obsession with 3,000sq. ft mansions and their
'spectacular' views.
Perched just off the busy main road at Ardmore, Rose
Cottage, is a little gem. It is handy too, for
visits by his sister Breege and her husband William
McCorkell, who live in Ballymacarthur, Greencastle.
