Pensioner tied up in cross-border kidnapping 04.04.07

Detectives in Inishowen are assisting police in Derry following a cross border tiger kidnapping.
An 87-year-old woman and her son and daughter were tied up by armed raiders who forced their way into a house at Foyle Springs late on Monday.
It’s understood the daughter was later ordered to go to the post office where she works in Ballymagroarty. She was then instructed to remove cash and take it across the border to the Bridgend area of Donegal.
Nobody was injured in the incident, but the mother and daughter were treated for shock.
The house was cordoned off on Tuesday while police forensic officers carried out tests.
Gardai confirmed they are assisting the PSNI with their investigation into the incident.
There have been a number of similar robberies around the country in recent years.
