Graf wins Buncrana Rás stage 25.05.07

The FBD Milk Rás cyclists had a warm but wet welcome in Buncrana yesterday as heavy showers made the going tough in places for participants.
Nico Graf, Germany Thuringer Energy, winning stage 5 into Buncrana. Irish rider Paídi O’Brien took up second place on the mountainous leg of the Rás at Mamore Gap and jumped from 11th to a strong second overall.
But it was Nico Graf of Germany, who, in the final minutes of the 131 kilometre stage, crossed the Buncrana finish line in the best time to win Stage 5.
Stage 6 of the race today will bring the riders a total of 96 km to Derry after leaving Buncrana Main Street at 11am.
The cyclists will return to Clonmany via Mintiagh Glen and continue onwards to Carndonagh, Malin, Culdaff and Moville. The route continues on via Muff to the city where competitors will cycle a circuit of Derry's two bridges, pass the Guildhall and finish the stage with the climb up Shipquay Street. Riders take part in Stage 5 of the Milk Ras through Inishowen.
