Portrait of Malin model graces auction 01.11.07

A PORTRAIT of beautiful Malin model Michelle Doherty will feature next week in a special auction for charity.
Michelle was among just 12 well-known Irish women chosen to take part in the 'Max Factor Salutes Great Moments in Fashion' for which they were styled in vintage fashions and hair styles.
Malin model, Michelle Doherty. She was photographed by fashion photographer Sarah Doyle who also styled the dozen models using clothes donated by Irish designers.
The portrait of Michelle, who presents Channel Six music show 'Night Shift', pays homage to the 'Body Con' image of the 1990s. In it, she wears a figure-hugging black dress by Louise Kennedy.
'Body Con', standing for Body Conscious, is reminiscent of the late 1980s and 1990s, when the cult of the body-beautiful was king and models like Cindy Crawford and Christy Turlington ruled the catwalk.
Michelle's portrait is likely to raise serious cash for her chosen charity, The Irish Cancer Society.
Photographer Sarah Doyle praised the grace
and professionalism the 30-year old Inishowen model brought to the unique project.
"The show is inspired by the great moments in fashion. Michelle perfectly represented the 'Body Con' image of the 1990s and the whole supermodel culture of that time," she told InishowenNews.com.
"She is so beautiful and has great bone structure. Her portrait epitomises a sort of Christy Turlington moment from the time.
"But she is also great to work with...a really cool person and we're delighted she took part."
Down-to-earth Michelle, is the second eldest child of Ann and Sean Doherty of Ballysalla, Glengad. A good friend of former Formula One ace Eddie Irvine, she got her big modelling break while working in Dublin as an air stewardess with Aer Lingus.
Her portrait joins that of models Nikki Bonass, Chacha Seigne, former TD Liz O'Donnell and Antonia Campbell Hughes for the event which takes place at the Morrison Hotel, Dublin, on November 6 at 8pm.
