Sad passing of Kathleen Hegarty 25.10.07

THE SAD passing has taken place after a long illness of Kathleen Hegarty, mother of Inishowen Councillor Marian McDonald.
Kathleen, who was 85, had been a patient at Carndonagh Community Hospital for more than two years.
She died at the hospital around 7am on Wednesday morning.
A mother-of-five, she was predeceased by her husband George, a Foyle pilot, 36 years ago.
A native of Shroove, Kathleen (nee O'Donnell) was described as a very quiet, unassuming lady "who led life to the full".
She will be dearly missed by her daughters Marian, Sally and Kaye and sons Georgie and Jimmy, the principal of Greencastle Fisheries College.
She is also survived by her sisters Bridget O'Donnell, Culmore, Derry and Anna Gillespie, Shroove.

Her councillor daughter yesterday paid tribute to the staff of Carndonagh Community Hospital. "They were so good to our mother over the last few years - nothing was ever a bother. They were second to none," she said.
Remains are reposing at her daughter Sally's residence at Shroove. Funeral from there at 10.15am on Friday, October 26, 2007, for 11am Requiem Mass at St. Mary's Church, Ballybrack, followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery. Family flowers only please.
