Part Time Retained Fire Fighters


 Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the position of Part-Time Retained Fire Fighter in the following fire stations:

Buncrana, Carndonagh, Stranorlar, Dungloe, Falcarragh

Candidates must live and work within a maximum distance of 2.5 kilometres of the fire station, the location(s) being acceptable to the Chief Fire Officer. (Appointments subject to Dept. sanction)

The closing date for the receipt of completed application form is:

Note: Appointments to the Fire Service are subject to satisfactory qualification /medical / reference/ garda vetting checks, as applicable.

Donegal YMCA STEP 2017-18 Programme Recruitment

YMCA’s Support, Training and Enterprise Programme (STEP) in Letterkenny is currently recruiting for their September 2017 to June 2018 programme. The 47 week full-time programme offers a full FETAC/QQI Level 4 major award in Employment Skills. There are components in Communications, Work Experience, Career Planning, Customer Service, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Functional Maths, Understanding Interculturalism and Team Working. There are also two work placement components totalling 6 weeks within the course. The aim of the programme is to support participants in gaining employment or accessing further education. The programme is primarily aimed at early school leavers who are unemployed and between the ages of 17-25 years, having left school at least 6 months previously. Participants receive the equivalent of SOLAS training allowances and also receive a transport & meal allowance. The course is funded by the Department of Education and Skills and the European Social Fund.
