Gardai flee courtroom to attend serious crash 26.04.07

A 41-year old Carndonagh woman was seriously injured yesterday in a collision in the town involving two vehicles.
Her eight year old son, the only other occupant of the car, was also hurt, although his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.
The accident happened at 5pm directly outside Carndonagh District Court as the court was in session.
On hearing the impact, Gardai rushed from the courtroom to attend the scene at Pound Street. The woman, who was driving a Kia car, had collided with the rear of a parked and unoccupied jeep.
Ambulance personnel were on the scene within minutes and rushed the woman and her child to Altnagelvin Hospital. The scene remained sealed off for several hours last night to allow a forensic examination to take place.
