Return of Big Bus cancer screening 19.06.08

Donegal Action For Cancer Care (DACC) is bringing Action Cancer's mobile healthcare unit, the 'Big Bus', back to Derry in September.
The Big Bus provides an array of services for people affected by cancer including reflexology, aromatherapy, massage and touch therapy as well as a 'Listening Ear' service to give emotional and practical support to people dealing with cancer including patients, relatives, carers and close friends.
The Action Cancer 'Big Bus'. The Big Bus also offers health checks to males and females aged 18+ years including BMI, cholesterol, blood pressure, lung capacity, facial skin scanner analysis as well as advice on self examination, health and lifestyle.
Using the latest digital mammography technology, females aged between 40-49 years and over 65 years can receive a mammogram on board with results processed within three weeks. Women must be asymptomatic or have not recently had a mammogram.
The service is free of charge to the end user but Action Cancer relies on donations to provide vital services to the community and donations onboard will be greatly appreciated by the charity.
The 'Big Bus' and DACC will be at Brunswick Superbowl car park, Springtown, Derry on September 4 and September 5, 2008.
