Wedding bells for Donna and Darren  03.06.08

WEDDING bells rang out at Cockhill Church last week when Buncrana heart transplant survivor Donna Porter tied the knot with her fiancé, Darren.
The couple met on the June Bank Holiday weekend in 2005 and he proposed to her at the Mater Hospital a week after her heart operation, the week before Valentine's Day
Donna, who has made several appeals to Inishowen Independent readers to carry an organ donor card, took sick on Christmas Eve 2005 and was admitted to the Mater Hospital in Dublin during the first week of January 2006 after a serious problem with her heart was diagnosed. Her heart transplant operation took place at the end of that month. Donna and Darren tie the knot on a beautiful sunny day.
Speaking a few weeks ago, Donna said she could hardly wait to get married and she and Darren were blessed with beautiful weather when they finally tied the knot last week. (Story: Inishowen Independent)
