Crana College U14s lift Ulster Cup
26.05.08

Crana College...5

St. Eunan's...2

CRANA College's U14s have been crowned Ulster Champions for the second time in three years after a convincing display against St. Eunan's in Buncrana.
The local side started the game in brightly fashion and dominated possession, with Ryan Dowds and James McGonagle causing problems for the St. Eunan’s defence. This early dominance led to an early breakthrough with Crana College going 1-0 up with a neat finish from McGonagle.
The game then settled down and the visitors scrambled a few good attacks especially up front where their pace caused the Crana defence some problems. But midway through the first half, the game turned around with St. Eunan’s scoring two goals in quick succession.
This sparked the Crana team into life and they went on to spurn a few good chances before Ryan Dowds scored the equaliser.
Crana dominated possession in the second half thanks to the sterling efforts of their captain Niall Rodden who took control of play in midfield. The college then scored three goals and raced to a 5-2 victory to be crowned U14 Ulster champions for 2008.
Crana College team captain and 'Man of the Match', Niall Rodden.
