THE brave crews of the Lough Swilly RNLI will hold their annual Open Day from their base at Ned's Point, Buncrana, this Sunday.
The popular event will take place from 2pm to 6pm and will include a showcase of the station's new Atlantic 85 Class inshore lifeboat as well as the auxiliary launching facilities such as boarding boats, launching tractor and quad.

Lough Swilly RNLI's new B-Class Atlantic 85 boat in action. The Atlantic 85 will also demonstrate the launch process at approximately 3.30pm and again at 4.30pm.
"The station’s all-weather Tyne Class lifeboat will also be accessible to the public at Buncrana Pier. This will allow members of the public access to all levels of the boat and will allow viewing of the facilities. Crew members will be on hand to answer any questions from
the public.
Lifeboat operations manager Liam Magee said: "This is a good family day for children of all ages. There is always great interest in the boats and the event allows everyone up close access to the equipment at the station and on board the boats.” The crew has extended an open invitation to the public to join them on Sunday.
