Horror crash court date set 26.02.08

A MAN is due to appear at an Inishowen court in April in relation to the horror crash that claimed the lives of five young friends at Quigley's Point more than two years ago.
Rochelle Peoples, Charlene O'Connor, David Steele, Gavin Duffy and Darren Quinn were killed in the accident in the early hours of October 8, 2005. All five were in the one car.
The male driver of the other car was badly injured in the crash and was taken to Altnagelvin Hospital in Derry. He was the sole survivor of the crash that shocked the entire country.
The latest development comes following an impassioned public appeal on January 21, by the victims' families for the Director of Public Prosecutions to make a decision on the case.
The families said they simply wanted "to find out what happened" in a bid to get some closure from their ongoing agony.
It's understood the families had a meeting with Gardai in Buncrana yesterday and were informed of the decision to bring a man before the courts.

statement following the meeting, a source close to the families said they were very pleased.
Suggesting it had been a long and hard struggle to get to this point, the spokesperson said they were pleased that the DPP had finally made a decision. The man will appear at Carndonagh District Court on April 15.
