African challenge for Fahan brothers 03.07.08

Bradleys to take part in Mellon challenge in November

Story: Inishowen Independent

Inishowen’s strong connections with the Niall Mellon Township Challenge is set to continue this year with the Bradley brothers from Fahan - Paul and Liam - both set to return to South Africa in November to continue working on the massive housing project.
Speaking to the Inishowen Independent this week, Paul explained that the pair had travelled to South Africa last year and had thoroughly enjoyed their first experience with the Niall Mellon Township Challenge.
Paul Bradley “It was very tough work but it was a great experience and certainly didn’t put us off the idea of wanting to go back,” Liam said.
However taking part in the challenge does require a significant amount of fund raising with the brothers required to raised €10,000 before they head off later in the year.
With that in mind they are holding a Night at the Races in the Cyclists Rest in Fahan on Saturday 12 July at 9.30 pm and have horeses on sale for
the event.
“We are hoping that as many people as possible will buy horses for the race night and we’re hoping that people will also come on board as sponsors,” Liam added.
He added that the fund raising was all worth it however when people realised what tremendous work the project was doing in securing proper housing for thousands of South African families who are currently living in shanty towns.
Anyone wishing to buy a horse, sponsor a race or who wishes to donate towards this worthy cause can contact Liam on 085-1441234 or Paul on 086-8256943.
