Legendary jazz guitarist plays Derry 14.04.08

JAZZ lovers will be keen to learn that legendary guitarist Louis Stewart will play at this year’s City of Derry Jazz Festival.

Stewart is credited on the international jazz scene for having played an important role in the evolution of jazz guitar. In July 1998, he became only the second musician to be conferred with a doctorate in music from Trinity College Dublin.
He continues to make Dublin his home while performing regularly across Europe including Germany and Norway.
The Louis Stewart Quartet are booked to perform at the Tower Hotel on Sunday, May 4 at 5pm. The quartet will be supported by a great line up of top musicians including Eddie Lee on bass, Paul McIntyre on piano, Gay McIntyre on alto sax and Gavin Taylor on drums.
