DACC hosts outspoken cancer specialist 02.07.08

LEADING cancer specialist Professor John Crown will be the keynote speaker at a free seminar hosted by Donegal Action for Cancer Care (DACC).
The conference entitled 'Up Here We're Dying to Live' will take place in the Mount Errigal Hotel, Letterkenny, on Saturday, July 12 and will offer a unique opportunity to hear prominent local and national experts in the field of cancer treatments and research.
It is one of two events being organised by the group following its AGM and election of a number of new officers for the coming year.

Professor John Crown "What better way to finish one working year and start another than with the announcement that DACC will host a conference with Prof John Crown as the keynote speaker. We will also host a night on Friday, July 18 called “Perfect Partnership” aimed at relaxation, enjoyment and positive health," said newly-elected DACC chairperson Betty Holmes.
Outgoing chair Seamus O'Donnell said the group had come through "another difficult year" when some people criticised them for an apparent "loss of focus".
However, he said anyone attending the AGM would be left in no doubt that the organisation was in fact very focused and "clear about the journey and work that they had to do".
The group said the success of DACC belonged to everyone throughout the county who worked and supported them in differing capacities. Their successes included the imminent appointment of a permanent breast surgeon at Letterkenny General Hospital.
The 'Up Here We're Dying to Live' seminar takes place from 10am to 1pm on July 12. Meanwhile, tickets for the 'Perfect Partnership' evening cost €15 each with proceeds going to the Oncology Department of Letterkenny General Hospital.
For more information on either event, please phone DACC on 07491 28400.
