Bishop promotes Inishowen priests 25.08.08

A NUMBER of Inishowen priests are retiring, being promoted or moving to different parishes under the latest round of clerical changes in the Derry Diocese.
The changes made by the Bishop Seamus Hegarty will take effect from August 29 and include the retirement on health grounds of Fr Seamus Farrelly, as parish priest of Carndonagh with Buncrana curate Fr Con McLaughlin being promoted to as his replacement.
Fr Brian Brady, parish priest of Clonca, Malin, is to become parish priest of Errigal parish in Garvagh, Co Derry while there is also promotion for Clonmany curate Fr Peter Devlin who has been named the new parish priest of Malin.
The newly ordained Fr Daniel McFaul from Muff, is to become curate at St Eugene’s Cathedral in Derry.
The other list of appointments is as follows: Rev Walter Carolan, CC Park, to retire; Rev Robert Devine, Adm Donaghmore (Killygordon), to become Priest in Residence in Killygordon; Rev Kieran Devlin, PP Badoney Lower (Gortin), to retire, to reside in Collon House and to jointly organise diocesan archives; Rev Liam Donnelly, PP Errigal (Garvagh), to become CC Limavady; Rev Stephen Kearney, Priest in Residence Ballykelly, to resume duties as

PP Ardstraw East Newtownstewart; Rev John Forbes, PP Banagher, to be PP Badoney Lower (Gortin); Rev Patrick Arkinson, CC Donaghmore (Killygordon), to be PP Donaghmore (Killygordon); Rev Eamon Graham, Adm., Ardstraw East, to be PP Banagher; Rev Eamon Martin, Former President of St Columb’s College, on secondment for five years to the Irish Episcopal Conference as Executive Secretary; Rev Gary Wade, CC (Templemore) St Eugene’s Cathedral, Derry, on leave of absence.
