Celebrating Peace III in Newtown

NEWTOWN Community
Development Initiative this week opened its doors to
the community and everyone involved in a series of
Peace III events at the centre.
The events ran from May 2009 and included a wide
range of intercultural, sport, crafts and social
activities.
Guest speaker at the open day on Wednesday was Cllr
Dessie Larkin. There was also a talk on the Peace
III programme as well as Scots and Irish music, a
display of quilts developed at the centre around the
theme, ‘Three Faiths, One Community'. |

There was also a fun
balloon launch involving local children from Moyle
National School, Scoil Cholmcille and
Newtowncunningham Play Group.
