The quirky proposal is
located underwater on a seaweed-covered rock just
below the landmark stone steps near the town's Shore
Green. And the proposer, it would seem, intended for
it to be viewed from the midway landing of the steps
- about 20 feet up. The gesture has since been
raising quite a few smiles among locals and tourists
walking along the shore path. Enquiries around town
as to the possible identity of the proposer have so
far come up with zero. Stonemason, snorkeller or
perhaps a cheeky little mermaid...let's hope they
sailed into the sunset with the result they desired. |
