Obama receives Inishowen whiskey 23.01.09

US President Barack Obama inauguration party took delivery last week of a gift from an Inishowen whiskey maker.
Hundreds of bottles of whiskey from Cooley Distillery - co-owed by Buncrana man Willie McCarter - were shipped to Washington DC for the celebrations.
The special Tyrconnell whiskey was specially bottled and labelled to mark the occasion. Cooley Distillery also makes a blend of whiskey called 'Inishowen'.
The Louth-based whiskey maker this week also filled an American wood cask with a special blend malt whiskey to mark the historic occasion.
The special blend will delicately mature during President Obama's years in office. The cask will then be presented to Mr Obama when he eventually leaves the White House.
