Ballyliffin Playground reopens to children 02.04.09

CHILDREN living or visiting popular Pollan Beach, Ballyliffin, this summer will have access to a newly refurbished €80,000 playground.
The revamped playground is now complete with new play equipment including wooden climbing frames, play houses and other toys.
Outgoing Cllr Dennis McGonagle and Charlie McConalogue who hopes to succeed him when he retires from the Council, visited the site and welcomed the facelift.
“There has been a playground located at Pollan Beach for many years now but the equipment had become old and run down," said Cllr McGonagle.
"This new equipment has come about through an €80,000 investment by the National Children’s Organisation and Donegal County Council and

is a massive improvement on the facilities available at the playground."
Mr McConalogue said the new-look playground complemented the "sterling work" of the local Ballyliffin Community Development Group, who are in the process of developing a much-needed walkway at Pollan Beach.
“I know it is a very welcome development for parents of young children in the area and will be a popular place for visiting families this summer,” he added.
