Muff hosts Corn na nÓg match 11.11.10

The Inishowen Combined Schools U13 and a half team enter Ulster Colleges competition on Saturday when they host St Pat’s Maghera in their first game of the Corn na nÓg competition in Muff at 12 noon.
The squad, which has been in training since the end of August, is managed by Sean O’Hare and the Moville Community College teacher is assisted by Michael McMenamin, Jimmy Hegarty, Robert Farren, Damian Dowds and Mickey McCarron.
They have performed well in challenge matches, defeating St Columb’s College, Holy Cross Strabane and the Donegal North West U14 divisional squad in recent weeks, but lost to a very strong Tyrone select last weekend.
The 32-strong Coláistí Inis Eoghain squad features players from Carn Community School, Crana College, Moville Community College and Scoil Mhuire, and all seven local clubs are expected to be represented in the starting 15. The squad had their final training session under floodlights in Buncrana last night.
Corn na nÓg winners in 2008 and beaten finalists, St Pat’s Maghera will provide very tough opposition for Coláistí Inis Eoghain in their debut in the competition. The school draws players from leading Derry clubs like Glenullin, Lavey, Slaughtneil, Swatragh, Kilrea, Glen and Ballinascreen and their U15 and half team have qualified for the Rannafast Cup final, which is also scheduled for Saturday.
Saturday’s game in Muff has a 12 noon throw-in and organisers are hoping for a large crowd of parents, siblings, school friends and club members to come along and give the boys their support.
