Nora excels at World Cup 27.08.10

FAHAN woman Nora Stapleton has played every minute of Ireland’s campaign at the Women’s Rugby World Cup in Surrey, England.
Stapleton lined out on the wing in Ireland’s 27-0 defeat to favourites England last Friday, and again in the country’s 22-12 bonus point win against a highly fancied USA team on Tuesday. The result leaves Ireland level with opponents England on five points each in Group B, though the latter are yet to face Kazakhstan, having beaten Ireland in their opening game. Ireland is still in the hunt for a semi-final place and meet Kazakhstan on Saturday Nora Stapleton

Ryan lines out for Republic
CARN FC footballer Ryan McLaughlin made his Republic of Ireland U18 debut in Prague on Tuesday in the Jezek International Tournament.
Although the Republic lost 2-0 to the Czech Republic, manager Sean McCaffrey was fulsome in his praise for the Carn youngster, who lined out under the name of his college, UCD. “I think Michael Keane of Manchester United had his best game in an Irish jersey so far while his opposite full-back Ryan McLaughlin was superb on his debut at left-full,” McCaffrey said. McLaughlin is a product of the Inishowen Academy and has progressed from their U12 teams all the way up. Ryan McLaughlin
