Linda togs out for Moville 10K 18.08.10

SINGER Ronan Keating's big sister Linda will be in Moville this Saturday to take part in a 10K road run to raise money for cancer patients.
Ms Keating will be in the Foyleside town for the event aimed at raising much-needed money for the Marie Keating Foundation. The foundation was set up in memory of Ronan and Linda's mother who died from breast cancer in 1998.
Linda Keating Linda, 43, who is director of fundraising with the charity, said she was delighted to be taking part in the local event.
"It's a fantastic event and we're delighted to be chosen this year for the fundraiser. It is great to get people out and about exercising because it is so healthy," said Linda.
"I'll be taking part in the 10K part of the race so hopefully I'll be able to complete it," she laughed.
The Marie Keating Foundation educates men and women about some of the main forms of the disease including breast, cervical,
skin, lung, prostate, bowel and testicular cancer. It focuses on how lifestyle choices can affect your chances of getting cancer and its nurses work hard to ensure people are aware of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and early detection.
The Marie Keating Foundation relies solely on fundraising and receives no government funding.
Race organiser Rosemarie Adie, who has hosted the Marie Keating Foundation mobile cancer unit in Moville on several occasions, said she hoped as many people as possible would join the event on the day - Saturday, August 21.
"The walkers will set out at 2pm, the juvenile one-mile will start at 2.30pm and the 10K run will start at 3pm," said Rosemarie. Sponsorship cards are currently available and registration will take place on the day. To find out how to take part, call Rosemarie on 93 85658.
