Charlie keeps it country 12.07.10

A LOCAL radio station is 'keeping it country' with a show that is growing in popularity among listeners here and abroad.
'Charlie’s Country Kitchen' hit the air waves earlier this year and since then the one-hour show has been a phenomenal success, says ICR.
Hosted by Clonmany man Charlie Doherty, the show is not only popular in Inishowen but also in many parts of the globe with listeners tuning in to hear the show as it streams live over the internet.
Station co-ordinator PJ McLaughlin said: “Charlie’s taste in music has been such a hit with the listeners that they demanded an extra hour be added to the show.“ Now, following negotiation between Charlie and ICR management, the longer two hour show will start on Saturday, July 17 at 7pm.

The first live ‘Charlie’s Country Kitchen’ was broadcast on March 27 and since then he has been inundated with requests and dedications each week.
“I'm delighted to be given the two-hour programme and would like to thank the management of the station and the listeners for their great support.
“A lot of material I have, has not been played yet but with the extra hour people are in for a real treat,“ he said.
The extended show also means that local artists will have even more opportunity to get their material on air.
Charlie Doherty is keeping it country on ICRfm.
The programme will remain country and Irish and listeners can contact the station during the show on 074 9329105 or text 086 8331000. The programme is also online at www.icrfm.ie Charlie’s Country Kitchen now every Saturday from 7pm – 9pm on 105 or 107.6fm.
