Culdaff Boil Water Notice 27.03.26

Update, Thursday 30 April, 2026: The Boil Water Notice on the Culdaff Public Water Supply Scheme has been lifted with immediate effect. Uisce Éireann (Irish Water) have confirmed that, following consultation with the Health Service Executive, customers on this supply and the Three Glens Group Water Scheme can now resume normal use of their water supply.
Update, Friday, 24th April 2026: A Boil Water Notice remains in place on the Culdaff Public Water Supply. The notice was issued in February to protect public health following elevated turbidity levels which affected the treatment process at Culdaff Water Treatment Plant.

Uisce Éireann confirmed that well drilling and yield testing are currently underway at Culdaff Water Treatment Plant. These works are essential to informing the design of a new water treatment plant, which is intended to increase water availability for Culdaff and surrounding areas in the longer term.

Unfortunately, the ongoing drilling activity has resulted in increased turbidity in the water being produced at the plant. As a result, the Boil Water Notice must remain in place at this time.
Update, Thursday, 9th April 2026: Uisce Éireann wishes to remind the public on the Culdaff Public Water Supply that a Boil Water Notice remains in place.
UISCE Éireann (Irish Water) is continuing works to lift the Boil Water Notice in place for those on the Culdaff Public Water Supply.

Following high turbidity in the water which affected the treatment process at Culdaff Water Treatment Plant, the notice was issued on 17 February last to protect the health of approximately 1,300 customers on the supply.
Remedial works are continuing at the water treatment plant and monitoring of the supply is on-going. These results will be kept under review and shared with the HSE.

In the meantime, everyone on the Culdaff Public Water Supply is advised to boil their water before use until further notice.
